My New Adventure in Digital Design

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on a new venture for myself, but before I get to that, let me tell you a bit about myself. I love creating, and art in almost all forms. It brings me unlimited joy, For the past ten years or so, I have focused entirely on my writing. I have written poetry, short stories, and even two novels that I self-published from my home state, Michigan.

It is now time to take on a new venture. I have been experimenting with watercolors a lot, which has led me to trying to recreate my work on a digital platform. So now I am diving in heads first into the graphic design world.

Ironically, one of my first chosen degrees in college was to get into Visual Communication, but I flopped hard, mainly from missing too many classes – back then my social life was more important to me than my education. After that humiliating experience, I didn’t just switch programs, but switched Colleges to try to get myself back on track.

The irony in this is that I never graduated with a creative degree. I ended up in the sciences, and I thrive on my hobbies these days which are all of the creative sort. You could say, I have been hitting a full circle moment lately.

I’m starting out with my side hustle on Threadless. A print – on – demand service for graphic designers, so if you ever find a piece that speaks to you that I create and share, feel free to get it from my shop.

I’ve only been on it for a short while, so I am still building up the content I am sharing on there, but today I was thrilled to have one of my designs accepted for one of the design challenges on their site. You can vote and see it here.

Earlier today, I submitted one of my other designs to a different challeng, which I am waiting to here back on yet.

My favorite products so far on the site, that are available with my artist designs include the t-shirts, throw pillows, blankets, and oddly enough – the shower curtain.

These two designs are my favorite currently:

Both Resilient and Empathy are words that mean a lot to me. The resilient one, has a silhuoette of a person showing off their muscles behind it, while empathy has a person with their hand over their heart.

Sometimes the simpliest designs mean everything to me.

I hope you like them, check out my store, and I will keep you updated on how things progress on my new venture!
